6 DIY Ideas for Easter

6 DIY Easter Ideas shared on hazelfishercreations
With Easter almost upon us I have been gathering lots of ideas for recipes, decorations, DIY projects, gift ideas and more on my Easter themed Pinterest board.  I thought I would share a few of my favourite DIY ideas with you here!

1. Easter Bunny Spring Wreath by Krista from The Happy Housie
I love the green eyelash yarn used as grass with the bunny in this wreath!

2. Cook Craft String Easter Eggs by Jeannette Nyberg on craftwhack.com
These look great as hanging decorations, I've also seen them made with small chocolate eggs inside.

3. DIY Easter Bunny Bean Bag Toss by Leslie from Pink Stripey Socks
This would be fun to make for your children to play with!

4. Felt Bunny Softie PDF Pattern by Precious Patterns on Etsy
These are so cute!  I think one of these would make a lovely alternative to chocolate as a gift for a child!

There are so many creative Easter recipe ideas around!  These are a couple of my favourites:
5. DIY Easter Basket Cake by Carrie Sellman on The Cake Blog

6. Easter Egg Cookies by Debbie Thorne on HobbyCraft

Folksy Friday - The Secret Garden

The weather has been so changeable here – sunny one minute then pouring with rain and hail storms the next!  It’s good weather for the garden to grow but I’m looking forward to warm sunny weather to go outside myself.  This week I’ve chosen ‘The Secret Garden’ as my Folksy Friday theme – to remind me of sunshine and pretty flowers :)Click on the photos / links to see more lovely items from these Folksy sellers…

Pick of the Week

I love books and I love art and handmade - so what could be better than a handmade book?  This lovely journal is made by Renate Ikinger - she also has an Etsy shop and although this journal has been sold there are lots of other handmade journals available.

Pick of the Week

I was just starting to get on top of things again after the computer problems, then this week I've been ill with a cold :(  It's getting better now but I had a couple of days of doing nothing.  It did give me a chance to have a proper look at a stack of Artist and Illustrator magazines I was given though.  Now I can't wait to get my paints out again!  One of the magazines mentioned the Google Art Project - I've just had a look and it's amazing!  You can take a virtual walk around galleries from around the world and zoom right in to some of the art.

Downton Abbery Series 3
My sister and I are going to miss our Sunday nights watching Downton Abbey.  We loved the twists in the story - who would marry?  Who would live or die?  Now we're looking forward to it all again when we see it on DVD (without all of the advert breaks!)

Pick of the Week

It's the 1920s, a speakeasy in St Louis... I love Tracy Butler's art and her comic is well worth having a look at!

Pick of the week... Mollie Makes

This post is a bit late really as I've had a copy of Mollie Makes magazine since before my holiday but I wanted to share this great new magazine as this week's 'Pick of the Week'.
Inside are lots of interesting articles on handmade and vintage and a good mix of tutorials too.  This issue came with a free kit to make a pretty felt flower - the photo above is the flower I made :)
Find out more about Mollie Makes on their website - http://www.molliemakes.com/
I'll be keeping an eye out for the next issue!

Pick of the week... Inspiring Blog

I recently stumbled across this blog; How About Orange by Jessica Jones a textile and graphic designer.  The blog is packed full of crafting projects and tutorials and inspired me to get on with some of the projects I've been wanting to do for a while (photos of those will be coming up soon!)

Victoriana

Lately I've been working in my Hexley sketchbook - making notes on the town and working up to some new paintings. (I'll be posting some updates on Hexley here soon very soon.)
While researching I stumbled across an amazing website packed with everything from Victorian/ Edwardian fashion to Victorian house plans! If, like me, you have a love for all things Victorian go and take a look - you won't be disappointed!
