Support the NHS! Free colouring page

You may have already seen that I have been creating printable colouring pages which you can download for free. I wanted to do something to help people in these challenging times and thought that colouring sheets would be a fun activity to occupy children (and adults!) while staying safe at home. Creativity is also a great way to deal with stress and give your mind a break from all the worrying thoughts that may be running around your head, particularly at the moment.

I want to do more though. While many of us are doing our bit by staying at home, following guidance from the government, there are many people working in key roles or volunteering. They work in schools, care homes, grocery shops, deliver our post and continue to provide emergency services to name but a few. The people truly on the front line are the NHS workers; doctors, nurses and all the support staff who are essential to keep our hospitals running. I recently watched a news report from an intensive care unit in a hospital where they were caring for coronavirus patients. It was distressing to watch, but I felt it was important to understand what was going on. The NHS are doing an amazing job, in such difficult cirumstances. In return, we can support them. The NHS Charities Together COVID-19 Urgent Appeal has been set up to support NHS staff, volunteers and patients impacted by COVID-19. Donations to the charity could help in many ways, such as funding well-being packs, supporting isolated patients and provide longer term mental health support for staff, volunteers, patients and their families.

The fundraising page which I set up has now closed, however you can still support NHS Charities Together by donating directly to them here.
The colouring pages I design and make available for you to download are free, but I would ask you to consider making a donation to the charity when you download them. It is completely up to you how much you would like to donate - if everyone donates even just a small amount it would all add up! If you are not able to make a donation that's ok, you can still download the colouring pages but if you could share this post with your family and friends that would be fantastic.

Thank you! Stay safe and stay healthy everyone. x

Free Printable Colouring Page - Butterflies and Flowers

It's been a long time since I last wrote a blog post - I had to remind myself how I actually write one and the html code I need use! The spread of the corona virus has turned the world upside down and life for so many of us has dramatically changed over the last few weeks. It's a strange and scary time, but more important than ever to look out for one another as well as looking after ourselves. I wanted to find ways that I can try to do something more to help. If you are staying at home for the foreseeable future, home schooling children or just want something to take your mind off the news for a while, art and creativity can be really helpful.
I have designed a free printable colouring page for you to download and colour and am planning some other ideas which I will share with you soon. You can also check out all my past craft project posts here. This butterflies and flowers colouring page design has lots of details, so should keep you or your children occupied for a while!

I would love to see your coloured pages - leave a comment below, or if you share your pictures on Instagram or Facebook tag me @hazelfishercreations or use #myhfcmakes

Free Printables for Sticky Notes: Elephant Reminder Notes

Free Printables for Sticky Notes, Elephant reminder notes by Hazel Fisher Creations. Learn how to print on sticky notesI've been working on some new planner printables for my Etsy shop and wanted to create some coordinating free printables to share with you here.  I thought some sticky note printables would be fun and picked an elephant theme for my reminder notes - as elephants never forget!! (See below for the free download link!)

This free printable sheet is designed for use with 3x3 inch sticky notes, but you can also just print the sheet on normal copy paper (or coloured paper) and cut out the notes.  It's really easy to print onto sticky notes if you follow these steps and tips...

How to Print on Sticky Notes

You will need:
  • a sheet of copy paper
  • My free printable notes sheet (see below to download it!)
  • 3x3 inch (76 x 76 mm) square sticky notes

First, print the sheet of notes onto a normal piece of copy paper.  Print the sheet at full size (don't select the option 'print to fit' in your printer's options).

Then take your sticky notes and carefully stick one down over each square on your copy paper print out.

Now print on this sheet of paper, with the sticky notes, again. Make sure you load your paper in exactly the same way round as you did before (if you don't the paper may get jammed).  Press print and this time the printer should print on your sticky notes!

Free Printables for Sticky Notes, Elephant reminder notes by Hazel Fisher CreationsYou can repeat this and print out several notes, ready for when you need to use them!

Free Printables for Sticky Notes, Elephant reminder notes by Hazel Fisher CreationsThe printable sheet I designed, with 6 different note designs on it, is Letter sized (8.5 x 11 inches) and can be printed on Letter or A4 sized paper.
If you are printing on darker coloured sticky notes you may want to choose the darker version of the design. The light grey version works best on pastel coloured sticky notes.

** Please note: this free printable is for personal use only! You can print it as many times as you like for your own personal use, but you may not redistribute it in any form (digitally or printed) or modify it or claim it as your own.  If you would like to share these printable notes on your blog/ Pinterest etc. please include a link back to this page (not the download link). Thank you!

Rainbow Colours and Free Printable Planner Page!

Rainbow Colours my sketchbook hazelfishercreations
I can't get enough of bright, rainbow colours at the moment!  They are such happy colours, especially good to see on a dull winter's day.  I've been having fun experimenting with colour this week, working on some new designs which I can't share with you yet.  However, I have also been using bright colours on some printable planner pages which I can show you!

I started off designing some printable planner pages to use myself and decided to make some to list in my Etsy shop too.  I have added printable monthly, weekly and daily pages as well as a 'things to do' list and notes page.  They all feature a rainbow watercolour spots design and come as A4 sized sheets.  I am using them for both my own personal goals / reminders of things to do as well as for my business.  I wanted to keep the designs quite simple and undated so that they can be used year after year and for a range of purposes - such as home management, meal planning, small business, fitness planning and more.
This is what the monthly planner pages look like...

Printable Calendar undated month per page available in my Etsy store hfcSupplies hazelfishercreationsAnd these are the weekly, daily, 'things to do' and notes pages...

Rainbow Watercolour Spots printable planner pages available from my Etsy shop hfcSupplies, hazelfishercreations

Free Printable Planner Page Year to view 2016 hazelfishercreationsThe year planner has a box for each month (no dates included) - which you can use to write important dates, goals etc.  You could print it to go in your planner or pin it on the wall.

You can download the PDF file here - you can view and print the planner page with Adobe Acrobat Reader.

December free printable calendar – Penguins!

I was just starting to write this post when the song from the John Lewis Christmas advert started playing on the radio – strange coincidence since I was going to mention their ad!  I like the narratives to the John Lewis tv ads – ads you actually want to watch, and they usually make me cry too.  Monty the Penguin is star of the advert – I’m sure penguins are going to be very popular this year!
I have joined in and drawn some penguins of my own.  I started off by designing some new Penguin themed party printables; like these cupcake toppers and invitation

Then decided to include a couple of Adelie penguins on this month’s free printable calendar too:

You can download the PDF here and you can view and print the calendar with Adobe Acrobat Reader.

The calendar is A4 in size, but you can scale it to fit different sized paper if you prefer.  You can print onto any type of paper you like, for best results I recommend using your printer's highest quality setting and a good quality paper.

Please note this calendar is for personal use only!  You can print it as many times as you like for your own use but you may not redistribute it in any form (digitally or printed).  You may not modify the calendar or claim it as your own.  If you would like to share the calendar on your blog, Pinterest, facebook etc please include a link back to this page (not the download link).  Thank you!  I hope you enjoy using it :)

November Free Printable Calendar

I wasn't sure what theme to choose for November’s calendar, so had a look back through all my surface pattern designs to find something which I hadn't already used for the calendar this year.  I decided to use the pattern made from my drawings of vintage buttons but gave it a new look by changing the colour scheme.  As it’s autumn here, I used my Autumn Shades set of baker’s twine as colour inspiration – I hope you like it!

October Free Printable Calendar and New Phoenix Trading Card Design

The days are getting shorter and the leaves are starting to change colour and fall here in the UK; so October's printable calendar has an Autumnal leaf theme.  Autumn is not my favourite time of year, mostly because I don’t like the long dark nights ahead, but there are still things to enjoy like the colours of the changing leaves.  The end of September was quite summery and warm, so the leaves that have fallen were crisp – there is something quite satisfying about walking on crunchy leaves!

Despite Autumn not being my favourite time of year, I think this calendar design for October might be my favourite of the year so far!  (I created this design by adapting elements from my Woodland range of designs)

September 2014 free printable calendar

Recently my head has been too full of other things to keep up with blogging, some work things and some not but all taking up a lot of time.  Unfortunately that has made this month’s calendar rather late.  Sorry :(  I didn’t want to skip September altogether though, so thought better late than never!  I would like to be more regular with blog posts, but I have come to realise that I can’t do everything and I need to not feel bad when some things don’t get done.  So I’m trying to focus on what is most important right now, and when I have more time I can do all the blog posts I keep thinking of doing.
Anyway, here is September’s calendar design with a red apple theme (inspired by my new range of 'Apples' printables)…

August 2014 free printable calendar

It’s August already!  I almost had this month’s calendar up early (which would have been a very rare achievement for me!) – it was all designed but my internet connection has been so slow over the past few days I’ve barely been able to do anything online.  Still, getting it up for the 1st of August is better than the 2nd :)

August means it’s summer here in the UK, schools are on their long summer break and the weather’s been hot, so ice creams seemed the perfect theme to choose   While designing this calendar I also found a fun way of creating a rainbow hundreds and thousands sprinkles inspired background.  I hope you like it! :)

July – free printable calendar

2nd of July already!  I was so busy yesterday I didn’t get a chance to do this month’s calendar, but it’s ready now.  This month I used elements which are in my Hot Air Balloon designs to create a summery design with bunting, blue sky and fluffy clouds.  It reminds me of summer fetes and fairs :)

Sorry I’m a bit late with the calendar this month – better late than never?!  I seem to have been falling behind with some of my plans again.  With lots of non-work stuff going on it's been hard to do much more than just the basics of keeping up with emails and orders. Although I have been doing some new paintings and designs, they are for projects I can't share with you yet!  The last deadline is this week though, so I should be able to spend more time working on my shops and finally get going with some of the new things I have been planning and researching!

It has started to feel like Spring here, the daffodils are popping up in my garden and it’s lovely to see the Spring flowers everywhere – so this month’s calendar features a daffodil pattern…

P.S. if you like the daffodil pattern on this calendar you might like some of my other Spring / Easter themed designs in my shop - see them here
