5 Things to Love About Autumn

Things to Love About Autumn, sketchbook drawing inspired by Autumn by Hazel Fisher Creations
Autumn isn't my favourite time of year, as soon as summer starts to fade and the days begin to get shorter, colder and wetter I start to feel a bit sad at the thought of next spring being so far away. However, rather than dwelling on the negative, I thought I would come up with a list of things to love about Autumn. I actually do really love having 4 different seasons with all the changes in weather that brings.  I think I would get bored pretty quickly if everyday was the same!

Colour Inspiration #23: Autumn Blackberries

Autumn Blackberries colour palette hazelfishercreations
Today's colour inspiration is from a photo I took a few weeks ago.  The hedgerow looked so colourful with different berries and the leaves starting to change to Autumn hues.  I loved the look of these blackberries and thought they would be great for making a colour palette!

October Free Printable Calendar and New Phoenix Trading Card Design

The days are getting shorter and the leaves are starting to change colour and fall here in the UK; so October's printable calendar has an Autumnal leaf theme.  Autumn is not my favourite time of year, mostly because I don’t like the long dark nights ahead, but there are still things to enjoy like the colours of the changing leaves.  The end of September was quite summery and warm, so the leaves that have fallen were crisp – there is something quite satisfying about walking on crunchy leaves!

Despite Autumn not being my favourite time of year, I think this calendar design for October might be my favourite of the year so far!  (I created this design by adapting elements from my Woodland range of designs)

You can download the PDF here and you can view and print the calendar with Adobe Acrobat Reader.

The calendar is A4 in size, but you can scale it to fit different sized paper if you prefer.  You can print onto any type of paper you like, for best results I recommend using your printer's highest quality setting and a good quality paper.

Please note this calendar is for personal use only!  You can print it as many times as you like for your own use but you may not redistribute it in any form (digitally or printed).  You may not modify the calendar or claim it as your own.  If you would like to share the calendar on your blog, Pinterest, facebook etc please include a link back to this page (not the download link).  Thank you!  I hope you enjoy using it :)

On other news for October 1st – I have a new tractor birthday card design out with Phoenix Trading today!

Bright, sunshine day

Yay!  The sun has come out today!  I don't like this time of year much with the days getting shorter and darker, but when the sun comes out it makes me feel much better :)  I'm definately a daytime person and the bright day helps me to be more productive - it's also good for taking photos!

Creations Christmas Craft Fayre and an Etsy Treasury

Only 2 days to go until the Creations Christmas Craft Fayre! I'm feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves as I've never organised an event before. There's still quite a bit of last minute things to do but hopefully all the hard work will pay off - we'll just have to wait and see what happens on the day! If you want to find out more take a look at the blog for the fayre and if you're in the West Bergholt, Colchester area on Saturday please do come along and see all the great handmade items on offer!
On a different note... I started making a treasury on Etsy ages ago with an Autumn Woodland theme and I thought it was time I finished it before Winter gets here!
