Shop update – What’s new?

BL001 etsy 2 ball games water bottle labelsBL001 etsy 1 ball games water bottle labels
I recently had an enquiry in my shop about party printables from someone who said they used water bottle labels and welcome signs, so I thought I would start adding these to my shop.  The first theme to have these new products is ‘Ball Games’ – both the bottle labels and sign are available in a choice of two colour schemes (orange and green or blue and red).
The welcome signs come ready personalised with a message of the customer’s choice.  As well as the Ball Games welcome sign I have also designed one to match with my Rule Britannia party set.

I have also started added printable cupcake wrappers to my shop – so far I have added a Strawberry themed set and a Rule Britannia themed set.

The cupcake wrappers are simple to make - just print, cut out and wrap around your cupcakes, securing the ends with double sided tape.  Each listing is for 4 wrappers - 2 with scalloped tops and 2 with plain tops (which you could cut with ordinary scissors or fancy edged scissors).

The last two new items which I am sharing today are these woodland themed printables…

There is a set of cute woodland printable labels featuring owls, deer, toadstools and more – which can be used as gift tags, in cardmaking or scrapbooking.  I have also designed a set of woodland themed printable journal cards.  The sheet contains 6 designs – 4 different 3x4 inch cards, a 4x6 inch card and a 4x1.6 inch card.  I used one of these in my recent scrapbook page layout.

I can easily make these products for the other themes in my shop too – so if you’re looking for something you can’t find in my shop please let me know.  I’d also love to hear from you if you have any suggestions for new printable products / themes you would like to see in my shop!

New Card Stock! - craft supplies

This is just a small selection of the cards and envelopes I received in a new delivery of stock yesterday!
There are lots of white cards for making my printed greeting cards as well as coloured cards to be listed in my supplies shop.  I also ordered a sample of some recycled paper - it comes in some gorgeous colours!
I made a larger order than usual, which will hopefully keep me going for longer, although I slightly under-estimated the task of finding somewhere to put it all!  Almost all the card is sorted now, so tomorrow I'll be able to make a proper start on printing new cards :)

I decided to make some changes to the cards which I sell in my supplies shop.  I looked at the most popular sets and have chosen to condense the number of different sets I sell, but still maintaining a good range of colours and textures.
These are the colour sets that I will now be stocking...
From top left...

  • Recycled (sandstone, suede, tuscan brown, dark grey and ash)
  • Berry (burgundy, violet, raspberry, pink with a hammer texture, cream with a linen texture)
  • Christmas (deep red, deep green, hammer textured cream, hammer textured white and bright green)
  • Nautical (deep blue, bright blue, dark cream, hammer textured pale blue and linen textured white)
The cards in these colours measure 4 1/8 x 6 inches (104 x 152mm) - approx. A6 and are available with either square or round corners.  The recycled cards come with brown Kraft envelopes, all of the others come with white envelopes.

These white cards (which have a very slightly rough surface) are the same size as the cards above and come with brown envelopes...

I will also be selling white cards with either a linen texture or with the very slightly rough surface with white envelopes in two square sizes: 100mm and 125mm.

You can see the range of cards I have for sale in my shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/hfcSupplies?section_id=7812465

Etsy Shop - About Page

Last month Etsy launched a new 'About' page for shops - a place for shop owners to share a little more about their business.  I've been thinking about doing mine for a while but found it was harder than I thought to make.  Etsy has made it really easy to add your photos and text - I just couldn't decide what to write and which pictures to use!
Both of my shops now have an About page - what do you think?
For my craft supplies shop hfcSupplies...
For my art shop Hazel Fisher Creations...
If you have an Etsy shop but are yet to make your About page you might find these links useful...

New Crafting Supplies Shop

Having spent many months debating whether to open a second Etsy shop I finally took the plunge last week! I decided to separate my crafting supplies from my artwork; my illustrations and artwork will remain in my original shop while supplies will be in my new shop - hfcSupplies (Hazel Fisher Creations ~ Supplies).
The new shop will stock buttons (mainly vintage), clock hands and crafting kits. For a time I will still have some supplies in my original shop but these will gradually be moved over to hfcSupplies as the shop in stocked.
It's exciting to be opening a new shop (a lot of work too!) - I hope that I've made the right decision to be running 2 shops on Etsy!

Folksy shop!

Something I've been thinking about for a while now is whether it would be a good idea to open up a new online shop on a site like Folksy. I like Etsy and and am happy with my shop there, but I wonder if the fact it is only in US dollars might put some people off (even though Paypal handles currency conversions automatically).
Folksy
This weekend I did some more research into Folksy. There seem to be pros and cons to Etsy and Folksy - Etsy is a bigger site with more members so more potential customers but it can be easy to get lost amongst all the other sellers. Folksy is smaller so although you are less likely to get lost there might not be so many customers. This was one thing I was concerned about - would there be enough people looking on Folksy to make it worth while listing? It seems that recently more people have been joining Folksy and they are coming out of beta testing at the end of the month. Also, although Folksy is limited to UK sellers only it does have a built in currency conversion for selling internationally. I think the forums could also be good on Folksy - more information relevent to UK sellers. So, I've decided to give it a go!

My new shop on Folksy is http://hazelfishercreations.folksy.com/ I will be selling prints and bookmarks at first and am in the process of stocking up the shop. Any other things like original ACEOs, magnets, crafting kits, vintage buttons etc will just be in my Etsy shop for now.

Has anyone else had experience with Folksy? It would be great to hear what you think! :)
