About

Hello! I’m Hazel. Ever since I was little I have loved to draw and make things and I always wanted to be an artist.  I now run my own creative business and my work includes creating illustrations for greeting cards, illustrating my Steampunk inspired fictional town called Hexley, designing stationery for weddings and parties, surface pattern design and creating designs for craft supplies.

This blog is a place where I can share news on my new illustrations and designs as well as posting craft inspiration and DIY projects.  I hope that by sharing things I have learnt or been inspired by will inspire other people to have a go at crafty projects themselves.

About my work...

My illustrations all start life as drawings in my sketchbook.  I usually then make pen line drawings, sometimes coloured with watercolours and pencils, which are scanned into my computer and finished digitally.  These illustrations are then used in my designs for fabric, craft papers, party printables, greeting cards and more!

As well as drawing I also like paper crafts, sewing, crocheting, knitting, baking and cooking, photography and gardening - all of which make an appearance on my blog here!  Being a crafter myself has an influence on my illustrations and designs for fabric and craft supplies, as I like to consider how they could be used.

I am inspired by many things around me, such as my pets (I currently have 2 guinea pigs and some fish but have also had a canary, budgies and rabbits in the past), nature, architecture and history.  I love that I can work on a variety of subjects in my drawings and craft projects.
