A Tale of Two Watches

I used to wear a watch every day, even when I wasn't going out anywhere, but one day I looked and saw that my watch had stopped. Even after replacing the battery it still did not work :( I thought at least I had an old watch I could wear though. Although the little bit that held the end of the strap down was broken I thought it would be ok. But then when I put the watch on the strap broke (it ended up in about 4 pieces)!
After the initial disappointment of having 2 broken watches I decided it was an opportunity to put my creative skills into practise and make a new strap for the second watch. Weeks later I've finally had time to make something for myself (not just to sell) and the watch had a happy ending :)

Butterflies and Buttons Treasury feature

I've just seen that my set of 2 Hexley badges has been featured in a treasury on Etsy. The theme of the treasury is 'Butterflies and Badges' and was put together by juliafinucane. You can see the treasury on Etsy here (until Wednesday).

Quote of the week...

Time for some more poetry in this week's quote of the week:

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour...
....
A truth that's told with bad intent
Beats all the Lies you can invent. - William Blake from 'Auguries of Innocence'

Christmas Cards

Surrounded by all my scrapbooking papers, card, ribbons and pens, I have been busy making lots of Christmas cards! I've even had to stop myself from singing Christmas songs (still far to early for all that!!) :)
As well as building up the stock for my next craft fayre I am in the process of listing some cards in my Etsy shop. Here are a few of my newest creations...

Pick Of The Week...

This week's pick has been waiting to appear here for a little while now, I had the perfect weather to photograph it today...
A couple of weeks ago I went to the Christmas Craft and Gift Show at the Charter Hall in Colchester. I went with my Mum to have a look around the stalls and maybe get some inspiration for my own stall. My eye was caught by seabreezestudio's stall; filled with lots of lovely bags and purses made by Yukiko Kamioka. I love the fabrics she uses and although I had a very limited budget I did buy a little lavender scented pin cushion, made with four fabrics including an apple print corduroy!! :D

Craft fayre and a catch up

Apologies for my absence since the end of October!! Last week I hardly had any time to keep up with everything online because I was so busy preparing for a craft fayre. I managed to get my stock ready in time and the fayre went quite well :) I sold more than I had at my last two fayres and I'm happier with the layout of the table. I had lots of nice comments on my work too :) My fabric covered magnets were the most popular items...
I think that each show I go to I will get better at talking to people and (hopefully!) selling things, I can't wait until the next fayre now! I will be having a stall at the Aldham Christmas Fayre on 28th November.
